FIGHTING DIABETES
This initiative’s purpose is to advance public knowledge about pre-diabetes and diabetes through educational events, increasing collaboration between other SNPhA initiatives and increasing partnerships with local and national community organizations. Additionally, the initiative aims to empower members to become diabetes educators, while increasing knowledge about the disease and confidence in working with patients, and to advocate for the profession through relentless efforts to increase disease awareness.

My name is Julio Guerra, a second-year pharmacy student.
Although I was not heavily involved in organizations during my first year, learning about SNPhA and its goals certainly ignited my interest and motivated me to become involved. Also, witnessing my peers' passion towards SNPhA and its mission definitely encouraged me to participate and work diligently to better the lives of the underprivileged. I'm confident SNPhA will provide me with ample opportunities to learn and grow both as a health professional and an individual.
